Perma Enchanting is a way to equip enchanted items beyond the normal limit of 2 rings, 1 helmet, etc. This results in various effects, most notably the ability to stack item enchantments repeatedly when using rings and necklaces.

Instructions

  1. Enchant an item (we'll use a ring in this example) and give it a unique name.
  2. Using a stack of 2 scrolls, Duplicate and drop the item.
  3. Pick up both copies of the item.
  4. Equip 1 copy of the item.
  5. Dupe and drop the unequipped copy.
  6. The game now internally thinks the player still has the item equipped, despite it being visibly removed from their inventory. Any enchantments on the item remain on the player in most cases (see below).

Notes

  • Each enchanted item can only be equipped once, even if you have multiple copies of it. So making more than 2 copies of a single item is useless.
  • An enchanted item removed via a script, such as handing an item over to an NPC during a quest while wearing that item, results in the same effect.
  • You do not have to close the inventory in between each dupe drop. For example, if you want to perma enchant rings A and B onto the player:
    1. Open inventory
    2. Equip A
    3. Go to the misc. tab and select 2 stack of scrolls
    4. Drop unequipped A
    5. Equip B
    6. Go to the misc. tab and select 2 stack of scrolls
    7. Drop unequipped B
    8. Close inventory
