Jailtime Followers is a glitch that allows you to transport most NPCs to outside a prison.
Instructions
- Cast a Command Humanoid/Creature spell with an appropriate level on the NPC you wish to transport.
- Before the duration runs out, commit a crime and get caught by a guard. It is possible to Load Warp to any city and get caught there if you wish to transport the NPC to that city instead, or if you are at a location with no guards nearby.
- Pay the fine or serve your jail time.
- The NPC you casted Command Humanoid/Creature on should now be there with you when you appear outside the prison.
Additional Notes
- A similar effect can be observed by Load Warping out of Miscarcand after grabbing the Great Welkynd Stone and then at any later point paying a fine or serving jail time. The King of Miscarcand and several zombies will then appear outside the jail.
- It is unknown why these NPCs in particular have this behaviour.
- It is possible to transport multiple NPCs at once using this method. Simply cast the Command spell on multiple NPCs before getting caught.
- This glitch provides an easy way to transport horses into cities, though since Horse Vectors likely will not be used in the run, this is of limited usefulness.
- The NPC may or may not stay in the city. If the NPCs AI package contains an instruction to walk to a certain location, they will attempt to do so from their new location.
Mechanics
This glitch requires further research to fully understand its mechanics. Some information in this section is currently speculation.
