Gate Relinking is a glitch that allows you to connect a Decoupled Realm to another Oblivion Gate.
Instructions
- Get into a Decoupled Realm via the Gate Decoupling glitch.
- Exit the Realm via the main entrance. Do not close the gate.
- You will now be at an existing Oblivion Gate somewhere else on the map.
Additional Notes
- It appears that only gates with random layouts are able to be relinked to. In the event that there are no remaining random gates to link to, the game displays the message "This door leads to nowhere" when attempting to exit a Decoupled Realm.
Mechanics
This glitch requires further research to fully understand its mechanics. Some information in this section is currently speculation.
It is currently unknown exactly why this works and how the game determines which Oblivion Gate to link to. It is likely that this relinking is possible due to how the game handles Oblivion Gates with multiple exits to them.
Related Glitches
- Gate Decoupling is required in order to set up this glitch.
