Malkoviching is a glitch where the player is spawned into the overworld at 0, 0
after closing a Decoupled Realm.
Instructions
- Get into a Decoupled Realm via the Gate Decoupling glitch.
- Close Realm via the Sigil Stone. Do not exit the realm's main portal at any point prior to this.
- You will be spawned in at
0, 0, 0
on the map and pushed back in bounds immediately.
Additional Notes
- The name of this glitch is inspired by a portal exhibiting similar behavior in the movie Being John Malkovich (1999).
Mechanics
This glitch requires further research to fully understand its mechanics. Some information in this section is currently speculation.
This glitch appears to work due to the fact that there is no actual portal entrance to spawn the player at after closing the gate, resulting in the game defaulting to 0, 0, 0
. Since this position is below the actual terrain, the game immediately moves the player back in bounds vertically after 1 frame.
Related Glitches
- Gate Decoupling is required to set this glitch up.
