Menu Float is a glitch where you can use a function key to open a menu right before you fast travel, resulting in that menu floating over the normal gameplay.

Instructions

  1. Select a fast travel location on the map.
  2. Just before the loading screen appears, hit F1, F2, or F3 to bring up your desired menu screen. You should hear the menu sound effect just before the loading screen appears.
  3. When you load back in, you will now have the menu floating above the normal gameplay wherever you go, including through doors to other cells.

Additional Notes

  • The map appears to not be possible to bring up, even if you quickly select other options before pressing F4.
  • Selecting the skills screen allows you to see your skill experience bars increase during gameplay.
  • The glitch ends if you bring up your menu screen normally, but other menu screens do not seem to affect this glitch.

Mechanics

CatPiss.png This glitch requires further research to fully understand its mechanics. Some information in this section is currently speculation.

This glitch seems heavily exploitable in several ways, including the fact that the inventory menu does not properly update when you use hotkeyed items or use containers, resulting in your inventory menu being desynced from itself visually.
