Instant Gate Closing is a glitch that allows the player to close any Oblivion Gate by just entering it without having to actually traverse the realm and grab the sigil stone.

Instructions

  1. Make a save outside of the sigil room for the Kvatch Oblivion Gate. Close the gate as usual.
  2. Enter another Oblivion Gate that you want to instantly close. Make a quicksave inside the realm.
  3. Load the Kvatch Sigil save you made in the first step and Load Warp the quicksave into the sigil room.
  4. You will spawn outside of the Oblivion Gate and it will be instantly shut.

Additional Notes

  • This glitch may work using other Oblivion Gates to make the save instead of the Kvatch one, but this is untested.
  • Since this glitch skips the Sigil Stone at the end, you do not get Fame for closing gates this way, making the glitch largely unusable in the 100% route. However, for the Great Gate quest specifically, that gate does not award fame and can be closed using this glitch.

Mechanics
