Recursive Shadowmere Potions is a glitch where Shadowmere drinks a potion over and over again until the entire stack is consumed from her inventory.
Instructions
This setup does not require this specific potion, but it is the only one that has been tested. This potion was crafting using only a Novice Mortar and Pestle.
- Acquire Shadowmere. Make a potion with the following ingredients:
- Wisp Stalk Caps
- Pear
- Venison
- Fly Amanita Cap
- The resulting potion will restore health, damage health, and fortify speed.
- Dupe the potion so that you have a large stack of them.
- Knock Shadowmere unconscious and place the potion stack in her inventory.
- Wait for Shadowmere to wake up. Quicksave and quickload if Shadowmere does not drink the potions.
- Cause Shadowmere to take damage. She should now recursively drink the entire stack instantly, resulting in a massive speed buff.
Additional Notes
Mechanics
This glitch requires further research to fully understand its mechanics. Some information in this section is currently speculation.
This works because Shadowmere is programmed to drink healing potions in her inventory when she takes damage. When Shadowmere first takes damage, she'll automatically drink the first potion in the stack since it has a healing effect, but then the damage health will lower her health again, causing her to drink another one. The speed effect is a payload that stacks up repeatedly while the health and damage effects keep balancing each other out.
