Time Warping is a glitch where the player can advance time the equivalent of a simulated fast travel while passing through a door without being moved to the fast travel location.
Instructions
- Be in an area where you can fast travel. Note what time/day it is.
- On the same frame, attempt to enter the door to another cell and bring up your inventory. If timed correctly, you will hear the door opening sound effect but you will still be in the same place with your inventory opened.
- Without closing the inventory screen, move to the map tab and attempt to fast travel to a location.
- You will be placed on the other side of the door. Check the time and note that it has advanced significantly as if you had fast traveled to the location you selected.
Mechanics
This glitch requires further research to fully understand its mechanics. Some information in this section is currently speculation.
This glitch appears to work because the transition to the next cell is set as soon as you activate the door, and for whatever reason selecting the fast travel location does not overwrite the location the door is attempting to send you to. However, it is still running a script to calculate the fast travel distance/time for some unknown reason.
