Current Best Route

  1. During Infiltration, enter the basement on the first floor of the Blackwood Company Hall by using Perma Key.
  2. Take the Loose Pipes on and near the back table, and activate each Sap Pump to place them.
  3. Upon completion of Infiltration, talk to Modryn Oreyn.

  4. Wait for the quest to automatically update, then talk to Modryn Oreyn again. (40)

Route Logic Considerations

  • Make sure you have Journal-Filled Expelled from the Fighters Guild before completing this quest, otherwise you will be unable to start/advance it afterwards.
  • There is a Nirnroot on the second floor walkway of the Blackwood Company.
  • There is a Nirnroot in Jeetum-Ze’s room on the second floor.
  • Stage 90 of this quest is required in order to earn the highest faction rank possible for the Fighters Guild.

Quest Stages

10 Modryn Oreyn has decided that the threat of the Blackwood Company must be ended. He wants me to travel to their headquarters and destroy the Hist Tree. It will be behind a locked door, and it is likely that only Ri'Zakar himself has a key.
20 I have killed Ri'Zakar. I should get the basement key from his corpse.
25 I've gotten the key to get into the basement, where the Hist Tree is located.
30 The tree has become a perversion of nature. It is surrounded by alien machinery. If I am to destroy this monstrosity, I will need to find a way to destroy the machinery that surrounds it.
40 I have destroyed the machinery surrounding the Hist Tree, and the tree was destroyed in the process. I should return to Oreyn.
50 Oreyn believes our work is now finished. He has given me the Helm of Oreyn Bearclaw as a symbol of our friendship. He suggests I speak with Vilena Donton and tell her all that has transpired.
90 Vilena Donton was astounded by the events I recounted, and she now realizes that her unwillingness to act could have caused the demise of the Fighters Guild. She has promoted me to Master of the Guild.
95 Vilena Donton suggests that one of my first actions should be to reinstate Modryn Oreyn as my second-in-command, if he will accept the post.
100 I have asked Modryn Oreyn to act as my second-in-command. He accepted, and will run day-to-day activities of the Fighters Guild in my absence.
