Current Best Route

Quest stages are indicated in parentheses at the end of each step when they are updated. Keep in mind that these optimized steps are within the context of the 100% speedrun route, meaning that certain items and setups are sometimes assumed to have already been performed prior to the start of the quest.

  1. At The Best Defense in the Market District, cast a spell to boost Heavy Armor to 70+ and immediately talk to Varnado.
    Training. (10)
  2. Fast travel to the Roxey in and kill Pranal. (✔ 200)

Bugs

Currently there are no known bugs associated with this quest that affect the 100% route.

Route Logic Considerations

  • Maro Rufus should be invest in while talking to Varnado.
  • Malene should be invested in while killing Pranal.
  • The Gravefinder's Repose is started by talking to Malene at the Roxey Inn, so you should finish Heavy Armor Training while completing that quest.
  • Like all the Master Training quests, the actual Master Trainer needs to be alive prior to starting the quest in order to be able to complete it.
  • Varnado at the Best Defense in the Market District and Valus Odiil in Chorrol will both start this quest. Both NPCs need to be talked to anyway for other route logic (Investing in Varnado, and The Killing Field for Valus Odiil) so the ideal NPC to start this quest is situational depending on the route logic.

10 I've been told that if I want additional training in the use of Heavy Armor, I need to find a man named Pranal, who was last seen at the Roxey Inn.
20 Pranal has asked me to buy a gift for Malene, the owner of the Roxey Inn. I need to find a silver pitcher and four silver glasses and bring them to him.
30 I need to give Malene the silver pitcher and four silver glasses as a gift.
40 I should tell Pranal that I've given Malene the gift he wanted her to have.
100 I've done all that Pranal has asked of me, and he has agreed to teach me what he knows about Heavy Armor.
200 Pranal has died, which means I cannot be taught more about Heavy Armor.
