Oblivion:Sheogorath

Quest stages are indicated in parentheses at the end of each step when they are updated. Keep in mind that these optimized steps are within the context of the 100% speedrun route, meaning that certain items and setups are sometimes assumed to have already been performed prior to the start of the quest.

1. Reach level 2 and acquire the Lettuce from Odiil Farm, a Lesser Soul Gem from the Bravil Mages Guild, and Yarn from the lower deck of the Bloated Float.
2. Fast travel to Sheogorath’s Shrine, NW of Leyawiin.
3. Activate the shrine.

   Select, “Yes.” (This offers the Lettuce, Lesser Soul Gem, and Yarn.) (30)

4. Wait for the cutscene to end. Fast travel to the Quest Marker to talk to Ri’Bassa.

   Bribe him to 65+ disposition.

   ↳ K’Sharra Prophecy.

   ↳ I am a traveling scholar.

   ↳ Three Signs.

   ↳ Advance predetermined dialogue. (40)

5. Head to the SW corner of town and enter the Border Watch Inn.
6. Take the Olroy Cheese out of the blue display case to your right.
7. Go back outside and head NNE to activate the cooking pot.

   Select “Yes.” (47)

8. Head SSE to kill all 5 of the sheep in the pen. Sometimes they are wandering elsewhere around town. Wait 1 hour for the rats to reach the cooking pot. The quest will update. (50)
9. Kill the last sheep in the pen that appears to update the quest again. (60)
10. Follow the Quest Marker to stand in the center of town and wait for the cutscene to end. (65) (70)
11. Fast travel to the Quest Marker and activate the shrine. (✔ 100)

Bugs

• Uninstalling the DLCShiveringIsles.esp on the latest patch of the game removes Sheogorath's dialogue audio files entirely, resulting in his cutscenes ending instantly. This tech has been ruled to be not allowed for the speedrun since it constitutes file tampering.

Route Logic Considerations

• S'thasa is a merchant that should be invested in while at the Border Watch Inn.
• There is a Nirnroot behind the counter of the Border Watch Inn that should be obtained during this quest.
• The Stendarr Wayshrine is just ESE of Sheogorath's Shrine, so it should be activated right after this quest.
• This quest requires several items in order to start it. Lettuce is acquired from Odiil Farm during The Killing Field, a Lesser Soul Gem is acquired from a shelf in the Bravil Mages Guild during Bravil Recommendation, and the Yarn is acquired from the lower deck of the Bloating Float during An Unexpected Voyage. None of these require the player to go out of their at all as long as these quests are at least partially completed prior to starting Sheogorath.
• Since a specific player level is required to start this quest, it is best done after the first instance of Power Leveling in the route logic.
• Like most Daedric Shrine quests, there are unskippable cutscenes that we need to find a way to avoid.

20			Ferul Ravel has told me I'll need a lesser soul gem, a head of lettuce, and some yarn as an offering at the statue of Sheogorath.
30			After I left the requested items at the Shrine, Sheogorath spoke to me. He told me of the settlement of Border Watch. I am to simulate a prophecy by committing two acts. I should speak to the shaman in the settlement to learn about the K'Sharra prophecy.
40			The shaman Ri'bassa has told me of the K'Sharra Prophecy. The first sign is vermin infestation. The second sign is plague, and all the livestock are supposed to die. I will need to find a way first to create an infestation of vermin.
45			Ri'bassa has suggested I stay at the Border Watch Inn, which apparently has a large collection of cheeses.
47			I've placed the Olroy Cheese into the cooking pot. The smell coming from it is astounding.
50			I have used cheese to lure many rats into Border Watch. I should speak with Ri'bassa to see if he believes this to be part of the prophecy.
60			I have poisoned the grain supply in the town of Border Watch. This has killed all the livestock. (If the player used Rat Poison in the food trough) or I have killed all the livestock in Border Watch. (If the player killed the sheep.)
65			Sheogorath has congratulated me for simulating the first two signs of the K'Sharra Prophecy. I am to go to the center of town to await the final sign.
70			I have witnessed Sheogorath create the Plague of Fear. I should return to the Shrine
100	✔		Sheogorath has rewarded me for my efforts by giving me Wabbajack.
